NYSTIA Update

Dec 3, 2014

Welcome to the December 2014 edition of NYSTIA News. As the new President & CEO of NYSTIA, I am really excited about all of the projects and programs we’ve been working on to make this newly-merged organization a success! Dawn Borchert has been busy building a strong Co-Op Marketing program, preparing for the upcoming NYSTIA/CONY Travel & RV Shows, and getting me up to speed on all things tourism. No one is happier than I am that she’s accepted the role of Program Manager for NYSTIA!

We are also tirelessly preparing for the 2015 Empire State Tourism Conference (ESTC), so save the date: April 27-29, 2015, at The Desmond in Albany. Stay tuned to hear about sponsorship opportunities, as well as what your Events Committee has planned for this year’s program.

As they say, membership has its privileges, and we want to make sure you get the most out of your NYSTIA membership. Did you know that our Members Only section of nystia.org has a job board? Members can post career opportunities, plus, every new job we post will be sent out to NYSTIA members via email and posted on Facebook. If you have a job you’d like to post, simply email us at info@nystia.org. We are also working to add new member benefits such as educational webinars, so if you have any subjects you’d like us to tackle, please let us know.

And speaking of membership, we are making a small but positive change to our membership program. Membership will now be valid for 12 months from the day you register/renew, rather than based on the calendar year. We know that revenue streams for our members are stronger at different times of the year depending upon your business, so we hope that this added flexibility will be beneficial. To become a member, please contact Dawn at dawn@nystia.org.

Thank you for your support of the Tourism Industry!

Sincerely,

Jill Delaney, President & CEO
