Meet Kate Skidmore, Senior Director of Sales at Bandwango. Kate is responsible for growing and educating the Bandwango client community. "I am a passionate tourism and hospitality industry advocate, working remotely for our Bandwango team out of sunny San Diego." Kate recently joined Bandwango after serving as the Senior Director of Member Engagement at Destinations International. Prior to that, she served at San Diego Tourism Authority for 7 years.
Bandwango is a travel technology company that offers solutions to more than 200 Destination Marketing Organizations worldwide. Bandwango's product, the Destination Experience Engine (DXE), enables clients to curate free and paid experiences into passports, trails and marketplaces designed to deliver more customers through the door of local businesses, capture significant first party data, measure full-funnel attribution, and more accurately track economic impact. Bandwango has been a key component of destination recovery throughout the pandemic by supplying communities with reporting capable of tracking the individual utilization of passes all the way down to the local business level.
Kate recently completed Destinations International CDME program-Certified Destination Management Executive, which focuses on helping industry leaders thrive in a constantly changing environment. "I look forward to taking this knowledge and applying it to our industry through continued partnership with Destinations International, NYSTIA engagement and future volunteer opportunities." states Kate. "During my 7 years with Destinations International, I had the privilege of working with many New York destination marketers. I am new to NYSTIA and look forward to contributing, learning from and collaborating with the member community!"
Away from the office, Kate loves cooking, yoga, travel and seeking out new cultural experiences. New York feels like a second home for me as my younger sister lives in Brooklyn and I visit often! Currently obsessed with working to improve my Spanish before a first post-Covid fully vaccinated trip to Guadalajara.
