Program Capacity: three (3) New York State DMOs / Destinations

Destination-Specific Sales Development Workshops:

Each participating New York State Destination's stakeholders have access to three (3) 'tailored' destination-specific workshops focused on adept tourism sales development processes and sales platform development. These workshops will provide tourism stakeholders with one-on-one services to develop targeted sales and marketing products that strategically align with their specific travel trade needs including sales propositions, proposals, travel trade sales literature and collateral. This activation will prepare the destination with the best practices in maximizing their tourism marketing efforts with the travel trade.

  • Workshop 1-2: Provide professional tourism sales development know-how and processes for destination and tourism stakeholders.
  • Workshop 3: Alon to work one on one with Individual business to ‘drill down’ on implementing strategic tourism sales and marketing development offers and materials for sales outreach.

Destination Specific Virtual Mini-Marketplace:

Following the completion of the tailored workshops, each host destination and their tourism suppliers are given the opportunity to participate in a virtual mini-marketplace with travel trade operators looking to expand their NYS products. Your tourism stakeholders will have the opportunity to put their newly developed sales resources to work.

  • Mini-Marketplace: Full circle travel trade sales meetings to promote the specific destination and stakeholders that attended workshops.

Mini-Marketplace Cost per Destination: $5,000
Initiative Support: $2,510
Destination Investment*: $2,490

* Destination investments cannot involve any NYS sourced funding such as NYS Tourism matching funds or NYS sourced EDA grant support.

1Travel trade is an industry term used to describe both international and domestic 3rd party resellers of travel collectively.
