Help shape one of the most exciting and impactful events in NYS tourism!

Are you ready to have fun, make meaningful connections, and support the next generation of tourism professionals? Join the 2026 Scholarship Auction Committee and be part of something truly special!

As a committee member, you'll collaborate with colleagues across New York State’s 11 tourism regions to gather travel package donations for our annual auction. These packages showcase the best of NYS—its destinations, experiences, and hospitality—and help raise funds for scholarships that launch careers in tourism.

Why Join?

  • Make a difference: Last year’s auction raised approx. $26,000 and an additional $3,000 in donations, and funded five scholarships for aspiring tourism professionals. Your efforts directly support the future of our industry.
  • Build your network: Work alongside passionate peers from across the state and deepen your connections in the NYS tourism community.
  • Discover NYS gems: Learn about hidden treasures and top attractions across the state while curating unforgettable travel packages.
  • Have fun: This is one of the most enjoyable committees to be part of—creative brainstorming, regional pride, and a shared mission make every meeting energizing.

Commitment:

  • Monthly virtual meetings (Fridays) kick off in November with Committee work from January until April’s conference
  • Email coordination to collect auction donations, stay in touch and share updates
  • On-site involvement at the NYSTIA Annual Conference, where the live auction is a highlight of the event and a crowd favorite!
