Brendan is the Director of Sustainability at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation where he works to ensure that DEC is leading by example in decreasing the environmental footprint of its operations. During his time in the role, he oversaw the creation of DEC’s first ever sustainability plan and has worked to embed sustainability into everything the Department does.

Prior to his current role, Brendan worked in DEC’s Pollution Prevention Unit where he provided businesses throughout the State with information and assistance on how they could become more sustainable.

Brendan is a graduate of Skidmore College with a degree in History and has a Master’s Degree in Policy Studies from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
