SUNY / Erie Canal Bicentennial Forum on Workforce Development

Oct 15, 2019

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Canal Corporation and the New York Department of State, I would like to invite you to our upcoming SUNY / Erie Canal Bicentennial Forum on Workforce Development, on Wednesday, Oct. 30th at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury. In cooperation with the State University of New York, we began this statewide series of community forums in 2017 as part of our Erie Canal Bicentennial Celebration to focus on the diverse economic impact of our Canal System. Previous sessions have covered Tourism, Arts and Culture, Craft Brewing, DRI Communities on the Canal and Building the Empire State Trail.

Workforce Development is a key priority of Governor Cuomo's administration, and this discussion will focus on workforce development initiatives in the North Country and Capital Region, as well as workforce diversification opportunities along the New York State Canal Corridor.

You will see on the attached agenda that, Governor Cuomo's Director of Workforce Development, Madhuri Kommareddi, will deliver the Keynote Address, and Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon will moderate both panel discussions. Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul has also been invited to deliver official opening greetings. The full agenda can be downloaded HERE.

Please feel free to share the Eventbrite e-registration link below with friends and associates and encourage them to join us. The program is completely free of charge, and includes an informal networking reception on premise afterward. All you need to do is click HERE to register!
