2026 Association of Canadian Travel Agents Eastern Canada & Quebec Canada Travel Industry Summits Recap

Hitting the road 24 hours after the New York State Fair, your New York State Tourism Champions booth visited two Canadian provinces in seven days, promoting your destinations at the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors' (ACTA) 2026 Eastern Canada Travel Industry Summit, held at the Pearson Convention Centre in Toronto, Canada, on Wednesday, September 9th, and the  2026 Quebec Canada Travel Industry Summit, held at the Montreal Trudeau international Airport Marriott in-terminal hotel on September 15th. We were joined in the booth at both shows by Maria DiGiacomo with Reach Global, representing I Love NY.

We had a corner booth at each show, drawing a lot of interest from Travel advisors. Many travel agents and travel advisors stopped by the booth and wanted to take a photo using our photo Kiosk, picturing themselves experiencing New York State destinations. Attendees asked a wide variety of questions about New York State, looking for places to host hiking/cycling tours, Cultural attractions, and New York City.

Travel advisors still said it's hard to book trips to the United States in the short term; however, they are optimistic about booking trips to the United States in the future. Our response continues to be "you're welcome when you are ready."
