Seeking Nominations for 2018 Tourism Excellence Awards
The New York State Tourism Industry Association will present Tourism Excellence Awards this fall.

Pittsford, New York – The New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA) is accepting nominations for the 2018 Tourism Excellence Awards. The award recipients will be announced at a celebration brunch to be held October 19, 2018 at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark in Queensbury, NY.

Nominators and/or nominees are NOT required to be NYSTIA members. All nominees should be New York State-based businesses, organizations, or individuals in the fields of travel and tourism that have shown leadership, commitment, and accomplishment of note. The nomination window is open now through August 17, 2018. Applications for nominations available online through NYSTIA website at www.nystia.org/events-pages/annualmeeting.

Award categories for individuals and organizations include excellence in public relations, printed materials, digital marketing campaigns, niche marketing, tourism economic development, visitor service, young professional leadership, and more.

“Presenting awards for excellence in tourism is one of the highlights of the year for our association," says Suzanne Bixby, Marketing & Communications Director for NYSTIA. “We are always impressed with the caliber of the nominees from all across the state and from every segment of the tourism industry, and we encourage people to nominate as many deserving people and projects as possible this year."

The list of winners from the 2017 Tourism Excellence Awards include Animal Adventure Park, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Visit Buffalo Niagara, Sullivan County Visitors Association, Wayne County Office of Tourism, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Kelly Rapone (Genesee County Chamber of Commerce), New York Power Authority Niagara Power Project, OnKeuka!, Harvey Botzman (New York Bicycling Coalition), and Andrew Nixon (Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau).
