Collaboration Strengthens Tourism Efforts in Finger Lakes Region

The Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council (FLRTC) brings together 14 counties and tourism representatives in the Finger Lakes to focus on one main goal - promoting the region as a premier travel destination. For this organization, collaboration is key, whether creating a trail or brochure, or working as a team to administer a region-wide public relations program that amassed a total of 1.3 billion media impressions in 2015.

The New York State Tourism Industry Association will recognize leaders in New York State’s tourism industry who have achieved a high level of excellence and accomplishment. Winning individuals or organizations are selected on the basis of demonstrated commitment, leadership, and accomplishment in the travel and tourism sector for the calendar year 2015. Awards will be given during the Award Dinner after the Annual Meeting on October 20 at Villa Roma Resort.

Ithaca, NY- The Ithaca/Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau, a division of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, announced today that Peggy Coleman has been hired as the new Vice President, Tourism and Community Relations. Ms. Coleman brings over 29 years of demonstrated success in destination marketing to the Ithaca/Tompkins County team, most recently as President of the Steuben County Conference and Visitors Bureau headquartered in Corning, NY.
