Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for the December Member Meeting & Virtual Holiday Party! It was a blast catching up with our tourism colleagues for an end-of-year recap while celebrating the holidays with our best festive decorations. Thank you to NYSTIA Board Chair Kelly Ann Curtin for delivering the opening remarks, Ross Levi for his thoughtful observations on the holidays, the industry, and the people who work in it, Break the Ice Media for hosting the virtual mixer, and Corporate Communications for providing the fantastic door prizes!
 
Highlights from the member meeting included presentations from Sally Donovan from Rove on mobile location data insights on visitor diversity and out-of-state visitors and Kellen Kruse from AirDNA with an overview of New York State's short-term rental market and the outlook for 2023. NYSTIA Attends Governor Hochul's 2023 World University Games Torch Relay Event

NYSTIA joined our tourism colleagues in the crowd as the torch relay celebration for the FISU 2023 World University Games culminated in Albany on Thursday morning. The games in Lake Placid are expected to bring together 1,500 college athletes from 600 universities in 50 countries. This will be the largest winter multi-sport event in our state, touting world-class facilities and expected to generate an economic impact of 70 million dollars!
