Dr. Bridget Niland, Dean of the College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management at Niagara University, will speak on the Workforce Development panel on Wednesday, April 19th at the 2023 NYS Tourism Conference. In particular, Bridget will share the actions and strategies implemented within the college to re-engage and re-energize students to seek management positions within the hospitality and tourism industries.
- Learn about recent partnerships between the industry and colleges to attract and educate students in the post-pandemic environment,
- Explore new techniques to market the various employment opportunities within tourism and hospitality,
- Understand the role local colleges can play in the market and hiring research,
- Learn best practices on how to engage with colleges to develop workforce development partnerships.
Bridget Niland, Ph.D., JD, is the Dean of Niagara University’s College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management. Dr. Niland has over 25 years of experience in higher education, sport law, philanthropy, and tourism. A tenured professor and former college athletics director, she has taught, researched, and practiced topics involving hospitality, sport, and tourism. Bridget began her professional career as a confidential law clerk within the federal court system and attorney at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., followed by management positions within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). She currently serves on the boards of the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, and Destination Niagara USA and is a past board member of the Buffalo Sports Commission, the Miracle League of WNY, Independent Health YMCA, WNY Girls in Sports and Visit Buffalo Niagara Commission.
