The Knox Trail @ 250: Henry's Heavy Metal Tour
Join us on Friday in Lake George at the 250 Commemoration Summit where Lauren Roberts, Saratoga County Historian & Chair of Saratoga250 from Saratoga County 250th, will share her presentation on the Knox Trail. This year is the 250th anniversary of the Noble Train of Artillery's successful trip from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston in the winter of 1775/1776. Come learn about what is being planned in a bi-state effort to commemorate this important event and hear about some of the important community partners that are making this celebration one to remember!
Why You Should Attend This Session:
- This session will explore the process of creating a multifaceted commemoration that includes various historical sites, community organizations and students. By highlighting an inspirational story that includes a young person facing difficult odds, assisted by residents with local knowledge of terrain and resources, and resulting in a major success for a young Continental Army, we are making the past come to life through this commemoration.
Key Takeaways:
- Learn about how to plan a commemorative event that takes place across two states over multiple months.
- Explore ways to bring in community partners that reach outside the box.
- Get ideas on how to promote your event so that you reach a wide audience.
