CORNING, N.Y. — May 1, 2026— Explore Steuben is pleased to announce the appointment of Mikenna Pierotti as its new Communications Director, bringing a strong background in journalism, storytelling, and strategic communications to the organization’s work promoting Steuben County as a vibrant destination for visitors, residents, and partners.
In her new role, Pierotti will lead communications strategy for Explore Steuben, helping to elevate the stories, people, places, and experiences that define Steuben County. Her work will support the organization’s mission to stimulate the tourism economy through authentic storytelling, destination development, and stronger connections between visitors and local communities.
Pierotti brings valuable experience in writing, media relations, brand voice, and public-facing communications. With local roots and a deep appreciation for the region, she is uniquely positioned to help share the story of Steuben County with both familiar audiences and new visitors.

Explore Steuben President & CEO Kevin Peterson said Pierotti’s combination of professional experience, creative perspective, and personal connection to the region will be a strong asset to the organization.

Pierotti joins Explore Steuben at a pivotal time as the organization continues implementing Steuben County 2035, the county’s long-term destination management plan, and supporting initiatives focused on year-round tourism, arts and culture, outdoor recreation, agritourism, small-town experiences, and community-based destination development.
Through this role, Pierotti will help guide communications that reflect the heart of Steuben County: its scenic landscapes, creative communities, historic downtowns, world-class attractions, and the people who make the region welcoming and memorable.
