Marketing & Brand Experience Manager, Sackets Hotels

Location

Sackets Harbor, NY

Date Posted

10/23/2026

Company Overview

We aren’t just a hospitality group; we are the stewards of a historic transformation. Operating a growing portfolio of lodging and destination-driven properties in Sackets Harbor, NY, our work centers on the reactivation of the historic Madison Barracks campus and our flagship boutique inn, Harbor House.

Our philosophy is built on hospitality, preservation, and long-term placemaking. We don’t "flip" properties; we methodically rebuild historic districts into year-round destinations that serve guests, locals, and future generations. Supported by secured improvement grants, we are in an era of rapid growth, transforming our campus into a full-scale, year-round destination rather than a collection of disconnected properties.

Our Culture & Core Values:

We believe great places are intentionally designed, carefully operated, and stewarded over decades. Using a people-first approach, we thrive on autonomy, trust, and a shared passion for community, seeing vision meet disciplined execution.

Ownership over Hierarchy: We value people who take responsibility and initiative; accountability matters more than titles.

Long-Term Thinking: We optimize for sustainability, reputation, and quality.

Operational Excellence: We know that vision only matters if the execution follows.

Respect for Place & People: History, guests, staff, and the community all matter.

Low Drama, High Trust: We value direct communication and adult accountability.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Position Overview:
We are seeking a scrappy, strategic, and deeply creative Marketing & Brand Experience Manager to build and own our marketing ecosystem from the bottom up. Because we are building an interconnected destination campus, you won’t just be marketing a single hotel, you will be telling the cohesive story of a historic transformation. This is a full-time, hybrid role for a true self-starter who lives and breathes digital storytelling, understands hospitality lead funnels, and brings a true "boots-on-the-ground" mindset. Reporting directly to Ownership and working closely with the General Manager of Guest Experience, you will manage all Sackets brands, including Harbor House, The Venue, The Marina, The Bottle of Sackets, the Sackets Harbor Community Farmer’s Market, and upcoming Madison Barracks properties as they come online.

Growth Path:
This role is built to grow. As our marketing function expands, you’ll hire and lead a seasonal content creator (as early as summer 2027) and work alongside a future sales hire ahead of the 2028 season, with a path toward a Director-level position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Architecture & Direct Bookings: Build, deploy, and manage organic and paid social campaigns (Meta Ads, TikTok, YouTube, Google Ads) designed to convert engagement into direct lodging stays, wedding inquiries, and corporate event sales.
  • Hands-On Content Creation: Spend time across our campus to shoot, edit, and publish high-quality native video and photos. Document active renovations (like the third-floor expansion and elevator install at Harbor House), behind-the-scenes preservation stories, and vibrant community interactions.
  • Specialized Hospitality Lead Platforms: Oversee and optimize listings across niche lead generation channels including Zola, WeddingPro (The Knot + WeddingWire), PMS tools (Cloudbeds), and localized SEO profiles.
  • Digital Audit & Asset Management: Conduct an immediate deep-dive audit of our existing digital footprint (sacketsharborhouseinn.com, barracksinnsacketsharbor.com, and local listings). Fix broken guest journeys, update imagery, and manage ongoing web updates.
  • Local Partnerships & Event Activation: Build relationships with local wedding vendors, caterers, and regional media. Pitch corporate clients and charities for meeting spaces at The Venue, co-lead our annual bridal expo, and represent the brand on-site during key live events and high-season activations.
  • Software & Stack Ownership: Since we are intentionally under-invested in marketing tech today, you will have total autonomy to select, build, and manage your own marketing software, analytics, and productivity stack.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Proven Portfolio & Work Samples: A ready-to-share portfolio demonstrating past campaigns, native video content, and measurable direct booking or revenue growth.
  • Boots-on-the-Ground Execution: Resourceful and independent; eager to capture raw content on-site, build systems from scratch, and manage projects without hand-holding.
  • Multi-Platform Ad Expertise: Proficient in deploying organic and paid campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, and Google Ads.
  • Niche Lead Generation Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Zola, WeddingPro (The Knot + WeddingWire), and local SEO best practices.
  • Digital & Video Editor: Intuitively understands social algorithms and trends; highly skilled at capturing and editing reels/short-form video on the fly.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset & Passion: Thrives in small, agile teams where adaptability is essential; genuine enthusiasm for lifestyle branding, community spaces, and preserving local history.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) like Cloudbeds or Hospitable.
  • Ability to perform basic website maintenance and analyze traffic patterns in Google Analytics.
  • Experience managing hyper-local or keyword-specific Google Ads campaigns.
  • Background in Hospitality, Events, Tourism, or Real Estate marketing.

Work Structure & Location:

Role Type: Full-Time.
Reporting: Reports directly to Ownership; works collaboratively with the General Manager of Guest Experience.

Hybrid, Commuter-Based: You live within roughly 90 minutes of Sackets Harbor, such as Syracuse, Watertown, Oswego, Utica, or Kingston, ON (US work authorization required), and are on-site 1–4 days a week, planned around shoots, meetings, and events. Editing, strategy, and campaign management can be done from home.

Peak Season & Events: Expect more on-site time in summer. Physical presence is required for most live events and major activations, including weddings, the bridal expo, and high-season weekends.

Not Local Yet? Relocating to the region is welcome. If you’re further out but exceptional, tell us how you’d make the schedule work.

Compensation & Performance Incentives:
Competitive Base Salary: Starting at $50,000 annually, (paid weekly) tailored to experience and background, paired with performance-driven incentives.

Incentives, PTO & Growth: We offer generous paid time off, competitive commission structures, and performance bonuses. We want to hear what’s worked best in your past roles (or what you want to build here!), and we’ll map out specific commission rates, intentional growth paths, and other pertinent terms together during our initial conversations to ensure we're aligned on shared success.
