2022 Travel - Positive Travel Trends, Still Work to be Done

Last week, Kelly Rapone of Genesee County Chamber of Commerce shared with us an important news article from Buffalo News discussing the ongoing ramifications COVID-19 restrictions are placing on border communities. With the Canadian government extending their ArriveCan app requirement until Sept. 30, the summer tourism season will suffer for the third year in a row.

Although U.S. Travel's June Trends Brief indicated a strong surge for the country's summer travel season and numbers for New York State indicate a positive trend towards increased travel spending, hurdles remain on the path toward full recovery.
NYSTIA will continue to keep members up-to-date with issues affecting NYS travel, and we welcome you to share important articles with us at rachele@nystia.org.
