Travel Show Recap: New York City Travel & Adventure Show & AAA Pittsburgh Travel Showcase

Jan 26, 2026

The Tourism Champions Booth in New York City & Pittsburgh: Weathering the Storm!

We experienced good traffic despite challenging weather conditions at two events this past weekend. The New York State Tourism Champions booth was at the New York City Travel & Adventure Show, held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on January 24th-25th. The booth was also at the AAA Pittsburgh Travel Showcase, held at the David Lawrence Convention Center on January 23rd and 24th. We want to thank Mike Hudson and Ann Smith from Tour Chautauqua for helping us staff the Tourism Champions booth at the AAA Pittsburgh Travel Showcase.

We experienced good traffic at the New York City Travel & Adventure Show, with a good mix of families, empty nesters, and retirees. We also had attendees planning corporate retreats and were also visited by several travel and tourism content creators. Attendees were interested in exploring upstate New York's outdoor experiences, family-friendly activities, and museums.

We were joined at the New York City Travel & Adventure Show by booths from the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST), Destination Dutchess, Ulster County Tourism, Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council (with representatives from Visit Ithaca and Tour Cayuga in the booth), Orange County Tourism, Visit Seneca Nation, The Adirondack Coast, and the Cove at Sylvan Beach.

At the AAA Pittsburgh Travel Showcase, we saw robust traffic over the 2 days, with attendees and AAA travel advisors seeking information about destinations across New York State. Attendees often commented on the variety of guides to choose from, often taking multiple guides to plan their next trip across the state.

Next Up: AAA Northeast Travel MarketplaceĀ at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough (Boston), MA, this Saturday, January 31st.
