  • 61% visited multiple regions
  • 13 average days to complete
  • 27% finishers from outside New York

Behind the Numbers

This was a year of many successes and personal triumphs, and we are grateful for the stories you shared at the finish line. Great recreation, learning canal history, and visiting canal towns and villages were frequently sited highlights of the Challenge. But the highpoint for many in 2023 was the people. Canal town residents, tour guides, volunteers, and fellow cyclists, walkers, and kayakers all made an impression.
