Skate with the Dutchmen – Union College Men's Hockey Team

At Discover Schenectady River Rink at Mohawk Harbor

- Members of the Union College Men's Hockey Team will be on hand at the Discover Schenectady River Rink, presented by Highmark Blue Shield of Northeast NY on Tuesday, Dec. 28 from 2pm – 4pm. The public is welcome to “Skate with the Dutchmen" for FREE. Bring your own skates or rentals will be available. There will be raffles for game-worn jerseys and game-used hockey sticks. All who come and skate will be entered into the raffles.

The Discover Schenectady River Rink opened to the public on Friday, December 10 and is open seven days a week through the end of February. The rink is located next to Druthers Brewing Co. in Mohawk Harbor. It features entertainment, concessions in the heated hospitality tent and pop-up holiday kiosk from Beekman 1802. Discounted season passes, family package tickets and individual passes are on sale now at Businesses or non-profits interested in hosting a group or outing in the heated hospitality tent should also visit and click “private events".

Todd Garofano, Executive Director for Discover Schenectady said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Men's Hockey team from Union College! They are a perennial power in Division One hockey and one of the top programs in the country. We are fortunate to have them in our back yard and are grateful for both the men's and women's teams commitment to our community."

Rink operator Flight on Ice's Jon Schaffer added; "Flight on Ice is proud to be a part of the revitalization happening all around Schenectady. Our hope is to establish a great experience for the community and visitors alike that will live on for generations to come."
