A Week of Celebrating the Erie Canal Bicentennial!
Your New York State Tourism Champions booth was at the 2025 World Canals Conference, held at the Buffalo Convention Center from Sunday, September 21st, through Thursday, September 25th. The Tourism Champions booth was also at the Fairport Erie Canal Bicentennial Celebration at Perinton Park in Rochester on Sunday, September 28th.
At the 2025 World Canals Conference, we were located next to the New York State Canal Corporation and Flanked by other New York State Destinations. The conference saw hundreds of attendees from 10 countries. Attendees enjoyed stopping by our booth to get information to extend their trip in New York State after the conference, as well as taking a photo in front of our map backdrop. Overall, it was a fantastic conference showcasing New York State and the Erie Canal Bicentennial Celebration!
After the conference, we moved to the Fairport Erie Canal Bicentennial Celebration. The booth was set up in Perinton Park, a canalside park where people gathered to see the Seneca Chief flotilla on its way to Fairport, NY. It was the perfect day for an outdoor event. We saw many families coming through the booth, gathering ideas for their next trip, and taking family photos using our photo kiosk.
