Corning, NY Mayor Pam Walker to Make Brief Remarks at the 2026 NYS Tourism Excellence Awards & Summit

We are pleased to announce that Mayor Pam Walker of Corning, NY will join us Thursday morning to welcome the attendees of the 2026 New York State Tourism Excellence Summit & Awards.

Pam Walker has lived in the City of Corning since July 1992. Prior to moving to Corning, she worked as a city planner for Brevard County, Florida, the City of Seal Beach, California and the City of Phoenix, Arizona. She taught English at Corning’s Alternative School for Math and Science from 2006 until her retirement in 2020.

Throughout her time in Corning, Pam has volunteered for a wide range of organizations. She is currently a member of the Corning Rotary Club and a volunteer at the Southeast Steuben County library. She was a member of the City of Corning Planning Commission from 2019 to 2025 and chair of the Corning Comprehensive Plan Update Steering Committee. She has also volunteered for the schools, the scouts, and her church.

Pam earned her M.P.A. with a concentration in urban planning from Columbia University and her B.A. from Yale University.

In her free time, Pam enjoys fly fishing in New York, Pennsylvania and Idaho, and bicycling. She and her husband Bob recently cycled the 391-mile Erie Canal trail from Buffalo to Albany with Parks and Trails New York.
