Feb 19, 2026

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) adds $15 million to the Charge Ready NY 2.0 (PON 5367) program

NY Hotels: $28M in EV Charging Funds Available Now!
Big news for increasing Level 2 EV charging in New York. As of February 2026, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) added $15 million to the Charge Ready NY 2.0 (PON 5367) program—bringing the total available funding to $28 million. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis until December 31, 2026, or until funding is exhausted.

What Locations Qualify?

  • Workplaces
  • Multifamily properties (apartments and condos with 10+units on-site)
  • Hotels and motels
Locations may be public, private, or a not-for-profit entity.

Rebate amounts:

  • $3,000 per charging port (standard sites)
  • $4,000 per port for properties located in Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
  • $1,000 per port for assigned parking spaces or fleet-only vehicles
Bonus rebates are available for sites that host EV education initiatives such as “Ride and Drive” events.
Recent updates also reduced the minimum requirement to four ports per site (down from ten), making the program more accessible to smaller properties. Public-only facilities are no longer eligible.

Stack Utility Incentives to Lower Costs Even More

In addition to NYSERDA rebates, several utility companies across New York State are offering EV make-ready funding. The best part? In many cases, utility make-ready incentives can be stacked with NYSERDA rebates, significantly reducing out-of-pocket costs for site hosts.

When combined strategically, these programs can offset a substantial portion of your total installation investment.

Why Act Now?

Level 2 chargers typically provide up to 25 miles of range per hour, making them ideal for workplaces, multifamily properties, and hotels where drivers park for extended periods. Installing EV charging can:
  • Attract and retain employees and tenants
  • Draw new customers to your business
  • Increase property value
  • Support New York’s clean energy goals
With $28 million currently available—and additional utility funding in play—this is a prime opportunity to invest in EV infrastructure while incentives are strong.
