2026 'Podium Proposal' for NYSTIA Programming Consideration

What format would be best for your Podium Proposal?

Your NYSTIA colleagues and committees are planning an unprecedented year of virtual and live programming in 2026. Plans include a variety of formats, all of which are briskly paced, including:

  1. Briefings / Update: Short-form sharing of relevant, useful and/or interesting information from a single presenter. Usually presented either in rapid succession or as an 'intermezzo' program element transitioning between other programming components. 5 to 10 minutes
  2. Webinars / Workshop: Structured presentations from an individual expert exploring a specific topic, usually followed by a case study that may involve a second individual. May feature Q&A and/or the opportunity to follow-up with the presenter. Ideal format for professional development. 10 to 30 minutes
  3. Round Table Discussion: Dynamic discussion featuring up to five participants and a moderator exploring a specific topic or issue. Each participant responds to questions posed by the moderator or from the audience. Less structured, more engaging/participatory than a panel discussion, guided by ongoing Q&A exchange and audience input. 30 to 50 minutes
  4. Panel Discussion: Structured, topic-specific presentations provided by a moderator and up to 3 additional panelists. Each panelist delivers concise remarks (6 to 8 minutes) sharing individual perspective, insights and experiences, followed by a Q&A session. 30 to 50 minutes
  5. Keynote: Deeper dive into a core theme or topic by an expert presenter, often followed by Q&A and/or a panel or round table sharing related insights and experiences. 45 to 90 minutes
