Wappingers Falls, NY—A social media and branding partnership New York By Rail has embarked upon with the Miss New York Organization is enjoying strong momentum in the wake of an Amtrak journey Miss New York 2022 Taryn Smith took to New York's Capitol for the “Albany Ghostly Tour."
Miss New York 2021 Sydney Park announced the partnership on April 22, 2022, during the New York State Travel Industry Association Annual Conference in White Plains, NY. New York By Rail is an annual Amtrak print publication, and with NewYorkByRail.com offers rail passengers guidance on enjoying the best New York places to visit accessible from Amtrak stations.
The “Albany Ghostly Tour," a two-day trip sponsored by Discover Albany, is the first in a series of New York State destinations and attractions Miss New York will visit via Amtrak as part of the partnership, which is raising money for the Miss New York Organization. Miss New York is next scheduled to visit and explore Schenectady, NY via Amtrak in November 2022.

Once Miss New York boarded an Amtrak train in Manhattan for the 2.5-hour train ride to the Albany-Rensselaer station, the entire tour was accomplished without her needing to drive. A hotel shuttle brought her to and from the Amtrak station, and she made her way around downtown Albany using a ridesharing service.
Tour highlights included a Capitol Hauntings Tour at the New York State Capitol; “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors" at Capital Repertory Theatre; and The Dark Side of Center Square Tour.

About Miss New York 2022
Taryn Delanie Smith is a passionate communications and media creative with a strong educational background in media studies and international relations. As a bilingual 25-year-old, she has scholastic expertise and hands on experience with digital communities, inter-cultural relations, and diplomacy. Taryn is an honors graduate who holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree from St. John's University. She is a freelance content creator and consultant for numerous national and international brands. Not only is she a mentor, but Taryn is also an educator and community dialogue facilitator through her partnership with the Department of Youth and Community Development.

These relationships continue to inspire me every single day to be a voice for those who so often go unheard."
Taryn will be competing for the title of Miss America 2023 on December 15th, 2022, at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT.
