2023 Scholarship Application

Greetings!

We are proud to open the application for the 2023 Destinations of New York Travel & Tourism Scholarship Awards process. Eligible students are invited to complete the form below and compete for one of five $2,000 scholarship awards to either defray tuition costs or underwrite a paid internship. The scholarship awards are for the 2024 academic year.

Eligibility, process, and program overview:

Eligibility: Scholarship application is open to New York State residents, who are:
- Full-time, degree-seeking students pursuing a major or minor in:
  - Tourism Management,
  - Hotel, Event, and Sports Management,
  - Culinary Arts and or other Travel and Tourism-related fields.
- Entering their second year (if in a 2-year degree program), in their junior or senior year (if in a 4-year degree program), or enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Attending an accredited New York State college or university with NYSTIA membership affiliation.

Scholarship Awards Disbursement:

Tuition scholarship awards defray your tuition costs. Funds are disbursed directly to the appropriate college or university and applied to the student's tuition invoice. Colleges/Universities must have NYSTIA membership affiliation.

Internship scholarships will pair you directly with a paid internship opportunity with a New York State employer. Funds are disbursed directly to the internship host employer and applied to the intern's compensation. Internship hosts must have NYSTIA membership affiliation.

Deadline: Applicants must complete the form below no later than July 31, 2023.
