Taste NY Marketing Customer Service Rep - Adirondacks Welcome Center

Company Overview

The Adirondack Welcome Center (AWC) – Customer Service Representative promotes regional agricultural products and agri-tourism and represents the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets, and Adirondacks Regional Tourism. The Representative is familiar with local agriculture products, retail food sales and knowledge of the tourism area. The AWC is a specific grant-funded program.

Job Description / Responsibilites

The Customer Service Representative will interact with the customers/visitors and engage them to talk about their travels. Primary responsibilities include assisting with the overall services provided by the Center to the traveling public. Assist with clerical/administrative routine duties, including but not limited to opening and closing duties, light cleaning, and customer assistance. Customer service representatives assist with straightforward inventory management, vending operations, operation and maintenance of inventory and general record keeping. Assist with development of creative product upselling.

This position will serve as the AWC Taste NY Market Customer Service Representative (CSR) and will work under the direction and supervision of the AWC Taste NY Market Manager and Taste NY Supervisor. Primary responsibilities include assisting with management of inventory, vending machine operations, cash/credit audit, customer service, and record keeping. Daily, the CSR will inspect the AWC for cleanliness, organization and refill supplies as needed. The CSR is expected to discuss the Adirondack Region agriculture, local foods, and regional tourism with customers to engage them in these areas and to provide information upon request about the food and farm products sold in the vending machines.

Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
• Ability to meet acceptable background check standards (criminal background checks).
• Ability to use or learn to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work with the public.
• Ability to complete basic math in a fast-paced environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
