Overview

The New York State Tourism Industry Association is a 501c6 trade association, with members and supporters from all facets of the tourism industry, including business operators/managers, destination marketing organizations, chambers of commerce, and other industry leaders and suppliers. NYSTIA represents New York State's tourism industry through collaboration, research, legislative awareness, and exceptional marketing.

NYSTIA's "I Love New York" Empire State Tourism Conference is an annual industry event bringing together professionals (and students) for professional development and networking. It started off in 2007 as the NY Rural Tourism Conference, and has grown each year since then. In 2018, the conference theme was, "The Tourism Experience. Learn it. Do it. It!" The sessions and seminars inspired and engaged attendees, and they took home many new ideas and connections to help them be effective and inspired tourism industry professionals.

The conference moves around the state, providing hands-on and energetic workshops that investigate and try out tools-of-the-trade for both the promotion side and the traveler side of tourism, as well as provide opportunities to “experience" best practices and innovative solutions to maximize our industry efforts.

An RFP for the 2019 conference will be available soon.
