About Ross Levi:
Ross leads the iconic I LOVE NY tourism program and helps coordinate promotional efforts to grow visitation across the state and increase awareness of New York as a premiere global destination.
As Executive Director, Ross manages the New York State tourism staff, coordinates efforts with the state's regional Tourism Promotion Agencies and state tourism trade groups, and collaborates on all I LOVE NY marketing initiatives. In addition, he works closely with the New York State Tourism Advisory Council, which provides input from the industry regarding the state's tourism efforts.
Ross joined ESD in 2012, serving as Vice President of Marketing Initiatives, and became Executive Director of Tourism in 2017. He was instrumental in launching and developing a number of new tourism efforts established by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, including the Adirondack and Catskill Challenges, the Governor's Tourism Summits, the Path Through History heritage tourism initiative and the I LOVE NY LGBTQ campaign.
Prior to joining ESD, Ross was Executive Director of Empire State Pride Agenda, one of the nation's largest statewide LGBT civil rights organizations. He served as a legislative director in the New York State Senate and worked in marketing in the film industry for companies including 20th Century Fox, Universal and Miramax. Ross is a published author and holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and a B.S. from Boston University, where he received local and national recognition for commercial writing and filmmaking.
He lives in rural Stephentown, NY with his spouse, dogs and cats.
