2021 New York State Tourism Conference

We learned a great deal from the success of presenting our first major, multi-day virtual conference in 2020 and we're planning to build on that success and provide an even better program for our - Virtual, Versatile and Vibrant - Conference in 2021.

The details are still a work in progress - so be sure to check here often and watch for the NYSTIA newsletter for up to date information

Registration

NYSTIA experienced its second highest ever paid attendance for the November conference. Based on that track record of strong attendance and amazing sponsors we launched registrations at an unprecedented rate of $95 per attendee - over 35% lower than the November conference!

  • We want to enable even more member engagement and provide even more member value!
  • There's more! NYSTIA members can extend the $95 registration rate to their entire staff, business partners and where applicable - their members. For this reason, we are urging all members to register early and reserve their place, and share, share, share!

Programming

We are focusing on the future and providing the information and insights that will focus on how tourism businesses and destinations can thrive - not just survive in the months and years ahead.

  • Wednesday April 21st will kick us off and will be dedicated to Small Tourism Business Success in 2021 - covering strategies to make more success from less resources with: In-house social media and PR strategies, winning more grants, collaboration and trend forecasting. This is the event to invite all of your small (and large tourism) business partners to!
  • We've already confirmed outstanding keynotes and panelists for our industry education and updates.
  • We're striving to provide meaningful programming for every member category

Schedule

One of our key takeaways from November is that a virtual conference doesn't need to conform to a live event schedule format.

  • Our schedule for April 21, 22 and 23, when announced, will enable attendees to participate in our events as they are presented, but recognize that attendees are still in the office, not at a hotel.
  • Time will be allotted each day to allow attendees to address emails and other responsibilities. All programming sessions will be recorded for future reference by attendees.

Networking

Our members want to connect with each other, and we'll keep that aspect of our November event intact. We will be providing virtual socialization opportunities so our attendees can catch up with old friends... and make new ones!

Thank you to the 2021 New York State Tourism Conference committee members for their energy, enthusiasm and, perhaps most of all, their inspiration. It is unfortunate that the COVID environment has once again postponed our plans to gather in-person, but we are grateful that we have a team of individuals working to raise the bar once again and present an outstanding experience for our membership.
